As we continue to grow and evolve as a club, so too does our leadership team. We’d like to share a few recent changes to the Maroochy River Rowing Club committee and extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have played such a pivotal role in our journey so far.
Firstly, we’d like to acknowledge and thank Bitz, who has officially stepped down from her role as President. Bitz has been a passionate and tireless advocate for our club, helping steer us through some of our biggest growth periods. While she is stepping away from the committee to focus more on her work and family, her contributions will always be appreciated, and she will remain an important part of the MRRC family.
Stepping into the President’s role is Amanda, who many of you will know for her dedication both on and off the water. Amanda brings great experience, energy and vision to the position, and we’re excited to have her leading us through this next phase. She maintains her role as Head Coach.
Alongside Amanda, Taryn has moved into the Vice President role. Taryn continues to drive the club’s outreach, partnerships, and member support – and her shift into this position reflects the growing scope of her work behind the scenes.
We also want to acknowledge Rob, who has stepped back from day-to-day committee duties and into an advisory role. Rob has been a trusted source of knowledge and support, and while he’ll no longer be involved in regular operations, he’ll still be available to offer guidance when needed.
With Bitz’s departure, and Rob stepping back, this leaves two vacant General Committee Member position. If you’re interested in contributing to the club in a hands-on way, this is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and help shape our future. Please reach out to our Secretary, Bec, if you'd like to express your interest or find out more.
Thank you to all our members for your continued support, and to our committee past and present for the work you do behind the scenes. We’re excited for what’s ahead!
