May 06, 2026 [Secretary Written by Secretary](https://rowing.mrrc.club/blog/author/secretary) 0 Min Read 💧 Row, Refill, Repeat 💧 We’re really excited to share that Maroochy River Rowing Club has been successful in receiving funding through Cr Maria Suarez’s Councillor Discretionary Funding Program to install a new water filtration system at the club. For a long time, access to safe drinking water on site has been a challenge for our rowers. This funding will allow us to install a Zazen Alkaline Water System with Glass Bottom Tank, providing clean, safe drinking water for our athletes, coaches, and visiting school groups. This is a simple but incredibly important improvement — especially for our early morning sessions and hot conditions — and it will also help us significantly reduce our reliance on bottled water. A huge thank you to Cr Maria Suarez for recognising the need and supporting our club in such a practical and meaningful way, and to Linda for her guidance throughout the process.
