Every MRRC Rower Medals — Fifth Overall out of 19 Clubs!
What a weekend for Maroochy River Rowing Club! Our crew headed to Wyaralong for the 6/7 December 2025 Queensland Grade Championships and delivered one of the strongest performances in our club’s history, despite the blistering heat. Every single one of our rowers came home with a medal — an extraordinary achievement and a testament to their hard work, resilience, and passion for the sport.
From the very first event of the weekend, MRRC made its presence known, taking gold and setting the tone for what became a powerhouse regatta. Out of 19 clubs and schools, Maroochy River finished in an incredible fifth place overall, punching well above our size and showcasing just how far our young program has come.

Pride in Performance — and Character
Beyond podium finishes, what made this weekend truly special was the way our rowers carried themselves — supporting one another, working as a team, showing humility in victory, and stepping up when challenges arose. Their behaviour, sportsmanship, and genuine care for their teammates reflected the very best of our club’s values.
We are equally grateful for our dedicated coaches, parent volunteers, boat drivers, supporters, and everyone who played a role in getting our team to the start line. These results belong to the village that surrounds our athletes.
We’d like to give a specific shout out to Coach Amanda for her steady leadership throughout the weekend. Her preparation and guidance helped our athletes feel confident and ready to race, and her support on and off the water made a real difference to the team. We’re grateful for the time and care she puts into our rowers and for the positive impact she continues to have on our club.
A Huge Step Forward for MRRC
Finishing fifth overall against 19 strong clubs and schools— many with much larger squads — is a mammoth achievement for Maroochy River. It’s a clear sign that our investment in coaching, fleet development, and pathways is paying off, and that our rowers are ready for even bigger challenges ahead.
To every athlete who raced: we are so proud of you — not just for the medals, but for the way you represented our club.
