We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the success of Djamila-Milou Heinz, who has just returned from the 2025 Pathways Regatta with a bronze medal and an experience she’ll never forget!

Representing Queensland at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Djamila rowed with fierce determination alongside her Queensland teammates Ayla, Maddie and Chelsea in a gripping final. The crew missed out on silver by mere fractions of a second to the Victorians, and were just behind the ACT crew who claimed the top spot. It was neck and neck to the line—true sprint racing at its best.

Djamila was selected to represent the state after months of hard training, dedication, and a clear passion for the sport. During the Pathways program, she had the incredible opportunity to be coached by some of Queensland’s best, including Harrison Parkes from Townsville—although we still reckon our local coaches are second to none!

Rowing for Queensland on a course as iconic as SIRC was a massive highlight, and Djamila rose to the occasion with grit, grace, and speed. Her performance is not just a personal achievement—it’s a beacon for all of our rowers.

This experience proves what’s possible when you combine commitment, passion, and a love of rowing. We’re incredibly proud of Djamila, and we hope her story inspires others to grab the bull by the horns and chase their own representative dreams.

Whether you’ve just picked up an oar for the first time, or you’ve been quietly wondering how far you could go—this could be you.

Let’s keep the momentum going. Who’s next?
